Diamonds are the exception — keep them. The first big event after you join usually offers the best conversion rate for premium currency, and a small stash lets you grab limited decor and speed-ups when they matter.
Mid-game strategy
Once three or four rooms are upgraded, the board starts producing higher-tier items. This is when chains become important: knowing which item merges into which, and which chains feed which rooms, turns the villa from a hobby into a well-oiled machine.
Relationships also deserve a plan. Spread gifts around early to unlock everyone's basic requests, then focus on two or three residents at a time. Deep storylines reward focused attention far more than scattered visits.
